Two very heavy thunderstorm clusters have moved into the Caribbean and the second wave has potential of development over the next 24 hrs. Both waves only impacted the southern Caribbean Islands. St. Maarten has not seen any impact, however sister Islands to the south Bonaire, Aruba and CuraƧao could see some action from both waves.
August 24, 2008 - Today: Variable clouds with scattered showers during the morning, then a thunderstorm is possible in the afternoon and into the night. High 87F. Winds E at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 40%.
Tonight: Variable clouds with scattered showers this evening followed by showers and a possible thunderstorm overnight. Low 79F. Winds ESE at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 60%.
Tomorrow: Rain showers in the morning then thundershowers in the afternoon. High 86F. Winds ESE at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 60%.
Tomorrow night: Showers and thundershowers likely. Low 79F. Winds SE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 60%.
Tuesday: A few thunderstorms possible. Highs in the mid 80s and lows in the upper 70s.
Wednesday: Showers. Highs in the mid 80s and lows in the upper 70s.
Special Features: The Atlantic basin shows another disturbance that may need some monitoring. This disturbance is still far away from any land but has a potential of development over the next few days. It is located some 300 east of the Cape Verde Islands.
