PORTRAIT OF THE ARTIST:
Graduate of the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, art teacher, Maryn holds a distinctive place among St. Martin artists. The originality and richness of her style reveal a personal way of feeling and expressing the world.
For her, the act of painting is magic and revealing of subconscious life; it evokes a universe of dream and gives her meaning. Her colors of light and shade provide great subtleness to her style. Other distinctions in her art, the use of plastics, give her compositions relief. Maryn’s works transport you in a kind of poetic dream state that is very pleasant.
It is a multitude of experiences and studies that have marked her journey: 12 years of ceramics, contemporary high-warp tapestry, weaving, creating marionettes, the study of graphology and symbolism in astrology.
Her numerous travels throughout the world - Bali, Thailand, Ceyland, Black Africa, Egypt, Greece, the USA, Canada,… - have greatly inspired her work.
Behind the visible, the invisible lies in her symbols, inscriptions, and graffiti. Written or painted, the drawing has the words to speak out.
